What is the first Step?
As a requirement of the Interim Early Intensive Intervention Funding Option introduced by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) in British Columbia, parents are required to submit a plan of intervention to MCFD within 90 days of signing the funding agreement. In response, CBI Consultants has developed two assessment and intervention plan options for families to choose from.
CBI Consultants has developed a three-day training package titled "Promising Practices for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders". We have trained more than 1,500 parents, professionals, educators, and one to one support personnel throughout North America with this training series.
We are offering this training to families and team members in Option A as a way of helping families to understand best practices principles, and to be an integral part of building an individualized best practices plan of intervention that meets the funding requirement of the Interim Early Intensive Intervention Funding Option.
In conjunction with the three day training series, CBI Consultants will review all relevant records and files, conduct a play based assessment with your child, observe your child in various environments and assist you with the assessment tools introduced in the three day Promising Practices Training Series. Finally, CBI Consultants will write up your child's individualized support plan outlining specific recommendations and interventions related to priority goal areas such as attending, comprehending and using language, play, social interaction, imitation, self-care, sensory reactivity, and pre-academic and academic supports.
The cost for Option A is $4,339.02 for you and your team members.
CBI Consultants recognizes that not all families and team members can be available for the three days of Promising Practices Training. In response, we offer Option B. With Option B, a consultant from CBI will review all relevant records and files, and set up a series of interviews, observations, and assessments with your child to develop an individualized support plan.
Once the assessment is complete, CBI Consultants will write up your assessment and plan of intervention with specific recommendations related to priority goal areas such as attending, comprehending and using language, play, social interaction, imitation, self-care, sensory reactivity, and pre-academic and academic supports. Families choosing Option B receive the same level of comprehensiveness as families choosing Option A. However, family and team members will not be trained in best practices principles and supports.
The cost for Option B is $3,491.25.
What Happens after the Assessments and Intervention Plans are Complete?
Following assessment and the development of a plan of intervention, CBI Consultants will tailor individualized support packages for each child in collaboration with the family and other team members. These support packages will identify specific strategies, time frames for implementation and costs.
Can I just purchase the Promising Practices Training?
